Welcome to Danceblast!
Danceblast is all about discovering the thrill and excitement of live performance.
We welcome students aged between 3 and 18, all of whom learn ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop as they work towards an annual show. For the upper school we now also offer some contemporary. These shows are always held during school holidays, usually during the Easter break.
All the students, whatever their age, gain a huge amount of confidence from taking part.
The emphasis is on fun! Classes, are held on Saturdays and Sundays and generally take place in the mirrored studio on the first floor of the Tobacco Factory in Bedminster.

Most students enjoy themselves so much they come back year after year; some are still with us after joining the school when it opened in 1997!
And they also learn to dance. Principal Anne Taylor is one of the country's best dance teachers. Several students have gone on to study Dance at university.
Anne is currently assisted by four student teachers, who help to ensure that pupils learn in a safe and happy environment.
Danceblast shows are renowned for being spectacular to say the least, earning rave reviews in the local press. "A shame it wasn't at the Hippodrome!" was one reviewer's comment.
The first six shows took place at QEH Theatre; "Turtles Rock" was held at the Tobacco Factory theatre. "The Animals Danced in Two By Two"and 'Total Eclipse" were both held to huge acclaim at the excellent theatre at Churchill Community School. This year's show "Spooks on The Loose" was also held at Churchill, and was a sell out. If you would like to find out what next year's show is about please click on the Show 2010 tab at the top of the page.
Recent shows have been musicals written by Anne. This means that all of the students get the experience of singing and acting as well as dancing. The costumes are stunning - mostly made to measure abroad - and parents also enjoy the amazing live band on stage throughout the performances.
